Updated 14/05/2017 Email note received from North Killingholme: "Also just to let everyone know that at last nights (08/05/2017) Parish Council meeting, a representative of Total reported to us that they had given permission for the Dong Energy pipeline to divert away from the old air raid shelters etc on Eastfield Road. The site will remain intact and untouched." Updated 23/02/2017 In the field on East Field Road there are three air raid shelters from the time the Airfield was in operation, and which form part of the airfield tour at Reunion time. The Dong energy cable project means that at least one, and maybe two, of these will be in the path of these works and Dong plan to demolish them. George Turner has protested and said that they should dismantle them carefully and erect them again in an area of the field that is not affected by the cable route. The Dong scheme is a multi-million pound project, and the cost to them for this would be a pittance in the overall scheme of things. We have lost too many of the 550 Squadron war-time buildings, and there is no desire to see these go the same way. DDM Agriculture are dealing with representatives of Dong Energy and would accept letters in support of this cause to pass on to Dong. Please either write to the N.K. Parish council to ask the council to write to DDM Agriculture in respect of this matter. Or write directly to DDM Agriculture. The address of DDM Agriculture, and the person to direct comments to, is: Tony Dale DDM Agriculture Eastfield Albert Street Brigg DN20 8HS
